CHINCHILLA
Chinchillas are fantastic little
creatures that come from the mountains of South America. They
come in many different colors and have the most special fur.
They have 80 or more hairs per follicle! Amazing!
Chinchillas don't like the way the oil from our hands feels on their
fur. That's why they want to take a dust bath after we touch
them. "Dusty" the chinchilla likes to roll in her dust to
clean her special fur after the children pet her. When we
visit schools, we bring this special dust along to watch this very
entertaining event! Dusty is a favorite among the kids.
