VIRGINIA OPOSSUM
Ginger the 'possum is a great
educational experience for anyone interested in learning about
critters that can be found right here in NC. We think it is
very important to spread the word about these incredible animals.
They are not the scary 'monsters' they have been portrayed as in the
past. Have you ever heard of a vicious opossum attack?
They are essentially very docile creatures that would rather 'play
dead' than fight. A wild opossum might look pretty frightening
because they have more teeth then any other land mammal and when
they are cornered, they do show them as a defense mechanism.
It's a face only a mother or a true animal lover could love!
You must have a license to keep an opossum in NC, so we have a
license to keep Ginger as a liaison in our educational programs.
She does a great job!
