RABBIT
There is a lot
to learn about rabbits. When we visit the schools we also
teach about wild rabbits and how important it is to give them space
and try not to disturb them. Wild bunny moms do not visit
their babies very often so if you see a baby bunny near your house,
unless it looks sick or injured, please do not disturb it! The
best way to find out if the mom is visiting her nest is to carefully
lay a few strings of thread across the nest. Check the nest
the next day to see if the strings have been disturbed.
Chances are, they will be. The mommy will come back as soon as
she knows you are not watching her baby or babies anymore!
